Emerson College Café

A welcoming space

Open seven days a week from 8:30am to 5:00pm, the Emerson Café is a relaxed and welcoming space serving both the college community and the wider public.

The café supports the many courses, trainings and events that take place at Emerson, while also offering a social hub for visitors, walkers and local residents. It’s a place to meet friends, pause for refreshment, or settle into a peaceful working environment with free Wi-Fi.

Food & Drink

The café offers an organic selection of teas and coffees, with dairy and plant-based milk options available. Almost everything is made in-house or sourced locally, including:

  • Cakes (with vegan and gluten-free options)
  • Light snacks
  • Biodynamic, freshly made soup
  • Organic pastries supplied by Sussex Kitchen

The space

Housed within Pixton Manor, the café occupies the former music room and sits adjacent to the old billiard room. The lounge is calm and light-filled, especially in the afternoons, and is decorated with paintings by Richard Heys (available to purchase), which complement the warm and atmospheric setting.

Outside, a spacious patio provides seating overlooking the biodynamic and botanical gardens – an ideal place to enjoy the natural beauty of the Emerson estate.

Bringing your furry friend?

Dogs are welcome on the patio, though not inside the café and must be kept on a lead whilst on Emerson campus.
