Over the last few months, Emerson College has entered a period of significant development and momentum, as the college continues to strengthen its educational work and campus infrastructure.
During a busy summer and autumn, we were pleased to welcome Sergio Gaiti and his family to Emerson, with Sergio taking up the role of Executive Principal at the end of October. His arrival comes at an important moment for the college, as several key initiatives move forward.
Alongside ongoing refurbishment works across the estate, developments are underway within the Ruskin Building, and the Rachel Carson Building is being transformed into the Ashdown Garden School. These projects support Emerson’s long-term vision for learning environments that are both future-focused and deeply rooted in the character of the place.
At the same time, Emerson is progressing towards registration as an apprenticeship provider. This will enable certain sponsored courses to be offered at no cost to students, widening access to learning. The first apprenticeship in biodynamics is planned to be piloted at Emerson in 2026.
Next month, Sergio will be sharing his own reflections and introduction in a dedicated news post, offering further insight into his role and the direction of Emerson.
