SUMMARY:Connecting with the Deceased & the Effects of Materialism on the Afterlife with Thomas Mayer
DESCRIPTION:We all live together with the deceased. The souls who are in spiritual regions support us from within with strength\, love\, trust and inspiration. The more we open ourselves to them and reciprocate their friendship\, the better they can do this. \nThomas Mayer has been in conscious contact with many deceased people for over 30 years and will talk about this in his lecture. He will also describe how the normal after-death path leads to the next incarnation. \nNowadays\, however\, many souls can no longer find their way into the light\, spiritual world and end up in dead ends\, in entangled\, unhealthy states. The materialistic approach to life can cause major blockages after death. In their distress\, these souls then occupy other people\, siphon off energy\, and cause spiritual\, mental and physical difficulties\, as well as social strife. \nThomas Mayer has been helping such deceased people for many years and has observed that energy blockages in places and houses\, as well as depression\, panic\, fears and deep grief that people carry\, have been released as a result. Such connections have so far been underestimated in the public consciousness. \nThe good news is that we are not at the mercy of this. It is possible to help affected people and the deceased. \nFacilitator\nThomas Mayer was born in Kempten\, Germany. He was co-founder and director of “More Democracy” and has organised many local referendums in Germany\, as well as being the author of “Answering the Call of the Elementals” published by Findhorn Press\, “Overcoming Fear – Exercises for Spiritual Self-Defence” and “Covid Vaccines from a Spiritual Perspective”. Since 2004 he has been teaching meditation together with Agnes. \nFee\n£12 cash on the door. (sorry no cards accepted) \nThis lecture will be followed by a weekend workshop from Saturday 26th Sept 09:00 AM to Sunday 27th Sept 17:00 AM  – Connecting with the Deceased \nFor more information please call Alex on 01342 827 967

SUMMARY:Women's Grief-Tending Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 26th September 2026 \nA one day gathering for women to come together in sisterhood and enter into the sacred space of grief. We make space for tending that which is held personally\, collectively and ancestrally\, which can then often flow. We bring our experiences and learning from different threads and lineages\, including Francis Weller\, Joanna Macy\, and Maeve Gavin and Sophy Banks who apprenticed directly with Sobonfu and Malidoma Somé of the Dagara of West Africa. \nWhy a grief tending just for women? This is not about excluding men\, rather it’s about creating a container where women can be free to give voice and expression to that which may only be comfortably expressed amongst other women. This gathering creates that space: a community of women coming together to tend their grief together\, to build trust\, to let grief surface\, to express and be witnessed\, and to integrate what arises so we might return to our lives a little lighter. \nThrough guided rituals\, gentle practices\, movement\, shared silence and song\, we invite ourselves and each other to meet the layers of grief we carry — as individuals\, as a community of women\, as women in this culture and in these times\, and through our lineages. The day will also include rest\, nature connection\, and a shared meal. \nAll practices are invitational and held within a confidential circle. \nFor questions or to express interest\, please write to: support@shiningdarkness.com \nFacilitators\nThe gathering will be facilitated by Selena King and Dita Vizoso. We bring our experiences and learning from different threads and lineages\, especially the guidance of Francis Weller\, particularly as shared in his book The Wild Edge of Sorrow\, the teachings of Joanna Macy\, and the Grief Tending in Community practices developed by Maeve Gavin and Sophy Banks who apprenticed directly with Sobonfu and Malidoma Somé of the Dagara of West Africa. \nDita facilitates transformation\, inquiry\, creativity\, in deep trust of our capacity to regenerate and rewild. Ourselves\, each other\, the land\, with Nature.  She’s happiest with soil under her feet\, a wheelbarrow in her hands\, and a song in her lungs. Find more about her journey with Grief Tending here. \nSelena is a spiritual companion at the threshold of death\, grief-tender\, Co-Founder of Shining Darkness and Spiritual and Anticipatory Care Lead at St Catherine’s Hospice.  She has spent twenty years in contemplative practice and is a trained Quietude® practitioner. Her work is rooted in the conviction that death\, grief\, and the darkest passages of human experience are not problems to be solved but thresholds to be accompanied with presence\, reverence\, and care. Find out more about Selena here. \nJoining the Gathering \nParticipants will need to fill out the application form to attend. This step is part of our care protocol and allows us to understand who’s coming and ensures we can hold the space well for everyone present. After we receive your application\, we will confirm your place and send payment details. \nContribution \nTo support accessibility\, we offer a sliding scale for this gathering:\n£95\, £120 or £145\, depending on your means. \nIf cost is a barrier\, please get in touch with us directly. A couple of bursary places are available for this gathering. \nFood \nFor lunch\, you can bring your own or you are welcome to book one of Emerson’s delicious lunches by contacting them at bookings@emerson.org.uk\nAs part of our integration we will end with a shared supper (included in our cost). \n  \n\n\nBook now

SUMMARY:Connecting with the Deceased with Thomas Mayer

SUMMARY:Earth Mother Blessing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:26 – 27 September \nCreating a blessing for our mother earth\, to spread through the land.\nFor many indigenous people\, there is a deep understanding of our connection to the earth and all that surrounds her\, and the need to care for her as she provides for us. This symbiotic relationship has been lost in industrial cultures where the presumption of human superiority has led to the neglect and misuse of nature. \nIn this two day workshop\, we will work together to create a blessing for the earth\, to honour her and make an intention to work with her\, instead of against her. Through simple crafting\, journeying and ceremony we will take this blessing away with us to be planted as Earth Mother Seeds in the areas we live in and travel through. This will spread the blessing through the spiritual roots and networks of the earth\, to reawaken and enliven the magic that has been stifled in many places. \nWe will: \n\nSet our intentions and ask for help from the spirits\nCraft small ‘earth mother seeds’\nWork in ceremony together to provide blessings\nCreate a circle of protection for the earth\nDeepen our connection with nature\nWork with the faeries and elementals\nSend prayers and blessings for all those humans doing good work with the earth\n\n  \nFacilitators\nDr Tish Marrable (Raven’s Wood Shamanics) is a shamanic practitioner\, wellbeing educator and storyteller with a background in adult education\, counselling and griefwork. She has a shamanic practice on the South Downs and a deep love of Welsh and Irish mythology and the land from which it emerges. She teaches shamanic skills from a Celtic and ancestral perspective. \nJonathon Huet (Woodland Bard)is a professional storyteller and environmental educator. He has extensive experience of running retreats and courses especially working with trauma\, mental health and wellbeing. Jonathon has a shamanic practice in Brighton which is informed by a deep connection to the land and especially Celtic traditions and lore. \nPractical Information\nTish and Jonathon run the Walkers Between Worlds South Coast Foundation in Celtic and Ancestral Shamanism. This is the first part of Caitlín Matthew’s Hallowquest shamanic training programme. \nFor further information about this workshop and to book please email ravenswoodshamanics@gmail.com \nBoth days start at 09:30 AM and finish at 17:30 PM \nCost: £210\nThis is a non-residential workshop and If you would like to book accommodation and stay at Emerson please book HERE

SUMMARY:Embryo and Cosmos A confluence
DESCRIPTION:10th > 11th October 2026 \nA weekend workshop to explore our spiritual embodiment. \nOur early embryo metamorphoses are the inner primal landscape of each one of us. Observing our early embryology is one way to rediscover a lifelong knowing about our inherent and dynamic wholeness. It encourages the path to health. \nIn this two-day workshop\, you will explore feelingly the unfolding biological landscape with key questions emerging: when does a human being begin? When does an incoming soul commit to incarnation? \nUnlike Near Death experiences ( NDE's)\, Before Conception Experiences (BCE's) aren't generally known about\, yet they are anecdotally on the rise\, the world over: does this point to a collective awakening about a continuity of consciousness? \nWe will focus on archetypal and healthy processes\, via images\, short lectures\, times of stillness and reflection\, creative exercises and discussions (and bibliography). \nAs a background metaphysical context\, we will encompass an overview of life between death and rebirth as well as the various subtle bodies that make up a whole human being\, mainly based on Rudolf Steiner's spiritual-scientific approach. This offers valuable indications in the research about the human journey of incarnation. \nFacilitators\nSophia Smith originally trained as a geologist\, then moved on to holistic therapeutic methods (reflexology\, oligotherapy and spiritual healing) with a niche in preconception preparation\, fertility and pregnancy\, birth and postnatal time. She is a birth doula\, working in East Sussex and Hammersmith  in London. \nElissa Dell is a craniosacral therapist and was senior tutor at the College of Craniosacral Therapy (CCST) in London for over 15 years. She also trained with Hugh Milne in The Visionary Approach to Craniosacral Therapy Association and for the Milne Institute. She is based in East Sussex\, teaching Foundation in Embryology\, developing and collaborating in post-graduate courses. Her practice is in Hastings & Fairlight. \nPractical Information\nSaturday 10th October: 10:30 AM - 17:30 PM \nSunday 11th October: 10:00 AM - 16:00 PM \nFee\n£195 (early bird fee £175 until August 10th 2026) \nFor registration and more information\, please contact: \nElissa Dell : elissa.dell@posteo.net\n+44 (0) 7984 915530 \nSophia Smith: sophia@sophiasmiththerapies.co.\n+44 (0) 7951 305897 \nBook your accommodation and meals here.\n

SUMMARY:Two - Day Grief Tending Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 14th - Sunday 15th November \nA two-day grief-tending gathering that honours the sacred space of sorrow and remembrance\, both personal and ancestral. This work draws on the teachings of Sobonfu and Malidoma Some of the Dagara of West Africa\, Joanna Macy and the guidance of Francis Weller\, particularly as shared in his book The Wild Edge of Sorrow and the Grief Tending in Community practices developed by Sophy Banks. The wisdom from these traditions form the foundation of our shared work. \nWe will come together in a space held with warmth\, care\, and shared intention. Through guided rituals\, gentle practices\, and shared silence and song\, we will meet the many layers of grief\, those we carry individually\, communally\, and through our lineages. \nThe journey gives time to build trust together\, help grief to surface\, express and witness grief\, and integrate\, to be ready to return to our lives. We will include rest\, nature connection\, and shared meals. The gathering will close by 4.30 PM on the second day. All practices are invitational and held within a confidential circle. \nSpaces are limited to maintain intimacy and depth. If this gathering speaks to you\, we welcome your presence. \nFor questions or to express interest\, please write to: support@shiningdarkness.com \nFacilitators\nSophy Banks \nSophy’s understanding of the importance of shared grief work started through attending workshops of Joanna Macy and Sobonfu Some and continued in more recent work with Maeve Gavin. Since 2013 she has been growing Grief Tending in Community to seed and spread the practices of tending grief together\, through offering talks\, workshops in many formats\, and supporting facilitators of grief work in her ‘Apprenticing to Grief’ programme and beyond. \nRohan Narse \nRohan is a grief-tender\, facilitator\, guide\, and Co-Founder of Shining Darkness – a sanctuary for grief tending\, soul work and renewal. His approach is shaped by initiations within the Bwiti tradition in Gabon and grief apprenticeships—first with Francis Weller and later with Sophy Banks. Through ritual\, invocation and gentle facilitation\, Rohan holds space for others to experience trust\, healing and soul remembrance. \nSelena King \nSelena is a grief-tender\, Co-Founder of Shining Darkness and Spiritual and Anticipatory Care Lead at St Catherine’s Hospice. Her work is rooted in the conviction that death\, grief\, and the darkest passages of human experience are not problems to be solved but thresholds to be accompanied with presence\, reverence\, and care. Through deep listening\, loving awareness and still companionship\, Selena holds space for what is most difficult to face. \nParticipants will need to fill out the application form to attend. This step is part of our care protocol and allows us to understand who's coming and ensures we can hold the space well for everyone present. After we receive your application\, we will confirm your place and send payment details. \nTo support accessibility\, we offer a sliding scale for the two-day gathering: £140\, £190 or £230\, depending on your means. \nIf you would like to book meals or accommodation please book through Emerson HERE \n  \n\n\nBook now

SUMMARY:Woman Weaving Wisdom - Weaving the Dream of Wryd an Event for Women
DESCRIPTION:In this weekend retreat we turn our attention to the profound potency of listening with the whole of our being\, to receiving and weaving our dream of life. So much emphasis nowadays is placed upon achieving goals and visioning rather than tuning into that which is already in the field of creation waiting for us to tune into\, receive and co-create. To be aware within the dream of life is to be in the consciousness of connection. It is to directly experience the intelligent and compassionate universe. \nIt is to be less in the solid material world and more in the energy world. To be in this awareness\, through experience\, we develop greater trust in the intelligence of the body\, the intelligence of the heart. We will seek to embody more of our internal authority instead of giving so much of our power and vitality to external authority. \nThe medicine people from around the world live with one foot in the material world and one foot in the world of energy - the spirit world. They know how to be aware of\, and receive from\, the energy world\, how to hear the songs of the vibrations of the dreams. They know how to make themselves available and open to receiving and call into manifestation\, into this material world. We also know\, but may have forgotten\, to fully re-member this. First\, we take time to deeply listen and receive and then call and feel into being the dreams that sing to us. \n“Begin to weave and the Divine will provide the thread. “~ Old proverb. \nWe will craft the flow with a variety of tools and practises; The wisdom from the circle of women The power of song Storytelling The Shamanic drum journey Ceremony Spiritual connection and being in nature. \nFacilitator\nDawn Russell \nDawn brings over 40 years of experience working with practices of healing\, connecting through nature\, sharing our stories and exploring the dynamics of life\, to help us remember and restore the wellbeing and sacredness of our humanity. \nLorraine Grayston \nLorraine brings many years of life’s diverse experiences\, working with a unique alchemy of Astrology\, Shamanism and Homeopathy to find our way to holistic healing and re-member our own Divinity and the role of the Sacred Feminine\, in each of us\, in our conscious co-creation of life’s unfolding. \n5th & 6th of December 2026\nSaturday 10am – 5:30pm\nSunday 10am – 5pm. \nFees\n£250 for the weekend. (£60 deposit)\n(does not include meals or accommodation) \nEnquiries & Booking contact: Lorraine 07713 401 956 or Dawn 07808 579 564 \nEmail: info@medicinewomanmedicineways.co.uk
