SUMMARY:Earth Mother Blessing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:26 – 27 September \nCreating a blessing for our mother earth\, to spread through the land.\nFor many indigenous people\, there is a deep understanding of our connection to the earth and all that surrounds her\, and the need to care for her as she provides for us. This symbiotic relationship has been lost in industrial cultures where the presumption of human superiority has led to the neglect and misuse of nature. \nIn this two day workshop\, we will work together to create a blessing for the earth\, to honour her and make an intention to work with her\, instead of against her. Through simple crafting\, journeying and ceremony we will take this blessing away with us to be planted as Earth Mother Seeds in the areas we live in and travel through. This will spread the blessing through the spiritual roots and networks of the earth\, to reawaken and enliven the magic that has been stifled in many places. \nWe will: \n\nSet our intentions and ask for help from the spirits\nCraft small ‘earth mother seeds’\nWork in ceremony together to provide blessings\nCreate a circle of protection for the earth\nDeepen our connection with nature\nWork with the faeries and elementals\nSend prayers and blessings for all those humans doing good work with the earth\n\n  \nFacilitators\nDr Tish Marrable (Raven’s Wood Shamanics) is a shamanic practitioner\, wellbeing educator and storyteller with a background in adult education\, counselling and griefwork. She has a shamanic practice on the South Downs and a deep love of Welsh and Irish mythology and the land from which it emerges. She teaches shamanic skills from a Celtic and ancestral perspective. \nJonathon Huet (Woodland Bard)is a professional storyteller and environmental educator. He has extensive experience of running retreats and courses especially working with trauma\, mental health and wellbeing. Jonathon has a shamanic practice in Brighton which is informed by a deep connection to the land and especially Celtic traditions and lore. \nPractical Information\nTish and Jonathon run the Walkers Between Worlds South Coast Foundation in Celtic and Ancestral Shamanism. This is the first part of Caitlín Matthew’s Hallowquest shamanic training programme. \nFor further information about this workshop and to book please email ravenswoodshamanics@gmail.com \nBoth days start at 09:30 AM and finish at 17:30 PM \nCost: £210\nThis is a non-residential workshop and If you would like to book accommodation and stay at Emerson please book HERE

SUMMARY:Connecting with the Deceased with Thomas Mayer
DESCRIPTION:Thomas Mayer and Agnes Hardorp return to Emerson for the third time in recent years. This time the goal will be Connecting with the Deceased. \nWe all have a relationship with those who have passed over\, whether it be conscious or unconscious. During this workshop Thomas and Agnes will examine the stages of life after death\, the influence of the deceased on the living\, and learn ways in which we can help those who have passed on. Eurythmy\, in conjunction with meditation\, is an important part of this weekend\, as well as meditating on mantras for the deceased. \nThis will be a practical weekend including several meditations\, always followed by the opportunity to share your experiences. \nMany people would like to make meditation a regular part of their life as it is a fundamental source of nourishment for body\, soul and spirit. But it is not easy to attain this on your own or through meditation books. Agnes Hardorp and Thomas Mayer have been offering courses in meditation since 2004 in order to help people to overcome their obstacles. \nFacilitators\nAgnes Hardorp was born in Hamburg\, Germany and grew up in the United States. She has worked as a professional singer\, voice teacher\, pianist and eurythmist. Since 2004 she has been teaching courses in Anthroposophical Meditation all around Germany\, Switzerland\, Holland and Austria. \nThomas Mayer was born in Kempten\, Germany. He was co-founder and director of “More Democracy“ and has organised many local referendums in Germany\, as well as being the author of “Answering the Call of the Elementals” published by Findhorn Press\, “Overcoming Fear - Exercises for Spiritual Self-Defense” and “Covid Vaccines from a Spiritual Perspective”. Since 2004 he has been teaching meditation together with Agnes. \nPractical Information & Fee\n\nSaturday 26th September 09:00 AM - 21:00 PM\nSunday 27th September 09:00 AM - 17:00 PM\n\n£220 \nDiscounts available if required for Steiner Waldorf teachers and BD farmers. \nTo book the workshop\, please call Alex on 01342 827 967 \nOn Friday 25th September at 19:30 PM\, Thomas will give a lecture on Connecting to the Deceased.  This isn’t a prerequisite to attending the workshop\, but it would be a good idea! \n  \n\n\nAccommodation

SUMMARY:Women's Grief-Tending Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 26th September 2026 \nA one day gathering for women to come together in sisterhood and enter into the sacred space of grief. We make space for tending that which is held personally\, collectively and ancestrally\, which can then often flow. We bring our experiences and learning from different threads and lineages\, including Francis Weller\, Joanna Macy\, and Maeve Gavin and Sophy Banks who apprenticed directly with Sobonfu and Malidoma Somé of the Dagara of West Africa. \nWhy a grief tending just for women? This is not about excluding men\, rather it’s about creating a container where women can be free to give voice and expression to that which may only be comfortably expressed amongst other women. This gathering creates that space: a community of women coming together to tend their grief together\, to build trust\, to let grief surface\, to express and be witnessed\, and to integrate what arises so we might return to our lives a little lighter. \nThrough guided rituals\, gentle practices\, movement\, shared silence and song\, we invite ourselves and each other to meet the layers of grief we carry — as individuals\, as a community of women\, as women in this culture and in these times\, and through our lineages. The day will also include rest\, nature connection\, and a shared meal. \nAll practices are invitational and held within a confidential circle. \nFor questions or to express interest\, please write to: support@shiningdarkness.com \nFacilitators\nThe gathering will be facilitated by Selena King and Dita Vizoso. We bring our experiences and learning from different threads and lineages\, especially the guidance of Francis Weller\, particularly as shared in his book The Wild Edge of Sorrow\, the teachings of Joanna Macy\, and the Grief Tending in Community practices developed by Maeve Gavin and Sophy Banks who apprenticed directly with Sobonfu and Malidoma Somé of the Dagara of West Africa. \nDita facilitates transformation\, inquiry\, creativity\, in deep trust of our capacity to regenerate and rewild. Ourselves\, each other\, the land\, with Nature.  She’s happiest with soil under her feet\, a wheelbarrow in her hands\, and a song in her lungs. Find more about her journey with Grief Tending here. \nSelena is a spiritual companion at the threshold of death\, grief-tender\, Co-Founder of Shining Darkness and Spiritual and Anticipatory Care Lead at St Catherine’s Hospice.  She has spent twenty years in contemplative practice and is a trained Quietude® practitioner. Her work is rooted in the conviction that death\, grief\, and the darkest passages of human experience are not problems to be solved but thresholds to be accompanied with presence\, reverence\, and care. Find out more about Selena here. \nJoining the Gathering \nParticipants will need to fill out the application form to attend. This step is part of our care protocol and allows us to understand who’s coming and ensures we can hold the space well for everyone present. After we receive your application\, we will confirm your place and send payment details. \nContribution \nTo support accessibility\, we offer a sliding scale for this gathering:\n£95\, £120 or £145\, depending on your means. \nIf cost is a barrier\, please get in touch with us directly. A couple of bursary places are available for this gathering. \nFood \nFor lunch\, you can bring your own or you are welcome to book one of Emerson’s delicious lunches by contacting them at bookings@emerson.org.uk\nAs part of our integration we will end with a shared supper (included in our cost). \n  \n\n\nBook now

SUMMARY:Connecting with the Deceased & the Effects of Materialism on the Afterlife with Thomas Mayer
DESCRIPTION:We all live together with the deceased. The souls who are in spiritual regions support us from within with strength\, love\, trust and inspiration. The more we open ourselves to them and reciprocate their friendship\, the better they can do this. \nThomas Mayer has been in conscious contact with many deceased people for over 30 years and will talk about this in his lecture. He will also describe how the normal after-death path leads to the next incarnation. \nNowadays\, however\, many souls can no longer find their way into the light\, spiritual world and end up in dead ends\, in entangled\, unhealthy states. The materialistic approach to life can cause major blockages after death. In their distress\, these souls then occupy other people\, siphon off energy\, and cause spiritual\, mental and physical difficulties\, as well as social strife. \nThomas Mayer has been helping such deceased people for many years and has observed that energy blockages in places and houses\, as well as depression\, panic\, fears and deep grief that people carry\, have been released as a result. Such connections have so far been underestimated in the public consciousness. \nThe good news is that we are not at the mercy of this. It is possible to help affected people and the deceased. \nFacilitator\nThomas Mayer was born in Kempten\, Germany. He was co-founder and director of “More Democracy” and has organised many local referendums in Germany\, as well as being the author of “Answering the Call of the Elementals” published by Findhorn Press\, “Overcoming Fear – Exercises for Spiritual Self-Defence” and “Covid Vaccines from a Spiritual Perspective”. Since 2004 he has been teaching meditation together with Agnes. \nFee\n£12 cash on the door. (sorry no cards accepted) \nThis lecture will be followed by a weekend workshop from Saturday 26th Sept 09:00 AM to Sunday 27th Sept 17:00 AM  – Connecting with the Deceased \nFor more information please call Alex on 01342 827 967

SUMMARY:The Enchantress - an experience & enquiry for women
DESCRIPTION:The archetypal energy of the Enchantress that lies within each of us\, expresses the freedom of feminine energy. \nThe Enchantress rises to facilitate and enhance our ability to sink into receiving and creating from\, the wisdom of our lives and the whispers of the Cosmos. \nThe Enchantress is the powerful woman within each of us. She is the Deep Feminine\, the Dark Goddess who knows and embraces the cycles of life\, death and rebirth. She is the Priestess\, the Witch\, the Herbalist and the Healer. She is in the place of the cycle of life’s rhythms where we can reflect and embody the teachings of life’s experiences. \nTo connect consciously to this archetypal divine feminine within\, \nassists us to meet the opportunities and challenges of these times with an inner sovereignty and sense of well-being in ourselves and our expression. \nFor many centuries this aspect of womanhood has been vilified. This absence has contributed to the lack of awareness and manifestation of the beautiful potential of humanity. As we (re)~member a wholeness of being so the Enchantress takes her place at the hearth/heart of community adding us to our greatest creativity and loving responsibility for our expression of our sacred lives. \nFacilitator\nDawn Russell \nDawn brings over 40 years of experience working with practices of healing\, connecting through nature\, sharing our stories and exploring the dynamics of life\, to help us remember and restore the wellbeing and sacredness of our humanity. \nLorraine Grayston \nLorraine brings many years of life’s diverse experiences\, working with a unique alchemy of Astrology\, Shamanism and Homeopathy to find our way to holistic healing and re-member our own Divinity and the role of the Sacred Feminine\, in each of us\, in our conscious co-creation of life’s unfolding. \nSeptember 5th & 6th 2026Saturday 10am – 5:30pm Sunday 10am – 5pm. \n\nFees\n£250 for the weekend. (£60 deposit)Some concessions available\, please enquire.  (does not include meals or accommodation) \n\n\nBooking & Enquiries\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo book your stay and meals at Emerson please follow this link.

SUMMARY:Medical Section Summer School
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 15th – Saturday 22nd August 2026 \nEmerson College\, Forest Row\, Sussex\, England \nThe Summer school is now fully booked. To apply for a potential exception\, you can contact Chiara Carones\, at registrar@emerson.org.uk\nThis Summer School is an initiative of the Medical Section at the Goetheanum\, with the aim of renewing practical\, social\, and esoteric co-working in our professional and representational work. We will explore what it means to renew the mysteries in relationship with Raphael\, the being who takes an interest in communities working therapeutically. \nIn September 1924\, this work was given a particular form by Rudolf Steiner and Ita Wegman through a practical-esoteric circle for doctors willing to take responsibility for the development of the Medical Section\, grounded in a deeper understanding of the task of the doctor for humanity. Our aspiration is that this work may be strengthened and allowed to inform the co-working of other professional-esoteric groups within anthroposophic medicine and therapy. We especially invite those who have both a practical and an esoteric commitment to this work\, and who wish to co-carry responsibility for the various anthroposophic healing professions. \nIn previous years\, we have deepened various themes in this direction. We began with visits to sites in Britain that Rudolf Steiner visited 100 years ago\, where important impulses were born in conversation with Ita Wegman. Indeed\, the human relationship between Steiner and Wegman carries a core karmic and esoteric signature for our movement. To deepen our sense of their cooperative working\, we hope to explore their earlier incarnations through short presentations each morning\, and to develop these further through speech and drama work in the afternoons. Each day will begin with eurythmy\, which will also echo our themes. \nLast year\, to strengthen multi-professional awareness\, while also allowing the various therapeutic approaches to deepen their own sense of identity\, we explored the history and essential gestures of the different therapeutic directions\, focusing on Eurythmy Therapy\, Anthroposophic Nursing\, Anthroposophic Arts Therapies\, and Anthroposophic Psychotherapy. This year\, we will develop this work further and\, for the first time\, hear from additional modalities. This will be supported by specialist working groups each afternoon\, where the different fields of work and their relationships can be explored. For example\, Arts Therapists (a group that includes a range of artistic therapies) will meet to deepen their understanding of their distinct identities; Psychotherapists will explore their interface with the work of priests and doctors; and Nurses will meet with Doctors to explore the relationship between their two professions. \nAn essential question throughout this work is the nature of esoteric community life\, and what it means to make a commitment to such work. What might it mean to renew ancient mystery wisdom within a modern\, practical\, and esoteric community of therapeutic professionals? Presentations and conversations will support the development of this theme. \nA visit to the Wellsbourne Community Project in Brighton is planned\, alongside a visit to Saltdean Beach\, to experience a local clinical project as well as aspects of the surrounding natural environment. \nIf you feel you are actively carrying anthroposophical medical and therapeutic work and are drawn to be involved in this impulse to strengthen our practical and esoteric co-working\, you are warmly invited. \nBooking\nThe Summer school is now fully booked. To apply for a potential exception\, you can contact Chiara Carones\, at registrar@emerson.org.uk \nThe cost of the weeklong seminar is £375 (seminar only) \nBook your place onto the seminar \nWe recommend booking early to ensure we can accommodate you. \nPlease book accommodation and meals through our website. \nConcessions\nWe aim to provide concessionary rates at various levels for those for whom the fee is prohibitive. SUMMARY:Karsten Massei Workshop - Sophia: The Goddess of Wisdom\, in Our Time
DESCRIPTION:During these three days\, participants are invited to connect with the inner sources through which we can become effective through the powers of our individuality. The goddess of wisdom\, Sophia\, will stand by our side as we explore who she is and how we can connect with her essence and impulses – with a particular focus on her presence and significance in our time. \nThe workshop centres on personal questions and working on one’s individual path towards the deeper secrets of existence. Her closeness to human individuality is unmistakable. \nWhile the seminar includes introductions to Sophianic beings\, the primary emphasis is on encouraging participants to practise independently. The pace is intentionally unhurried\, allowing space for meditation\, nature walks\, shared reflection\, discussion\, and exchange as integral elements of the work. \nFacilitator\nKarsten Massei \nKarsten was born in Berlin in 1963 and worked for 30 years as a curative educator in Switzerland. Through spending time with medicinal herbs in their natural environments\, he developed his clairvoyant capacities.
