Immersive Leadership Encounter

A two-day leadership development programme for leaders who want to deepen their awareness, expand their capacity, and lead with greater clarity, presence and systemic intelligence.

Why This Programme Matters

Leaders today are navigating unprecedented complexity. Rapid change, competing priorities, stretched teams and cultures under pressure are now the norm. Traditional leadership models are no longer enough. What is needed is a deeper way of seeing, sensing and responding. The Leadership Encounter is a research-informed, experiential programme that helps leaders reconnect with their inner and outer resources, expand their perspective, and develop the capacities required to lead in a more adaptive, human-centred and regenerative way.

What Participants Experience

Across two immersive days, participants will:

• Step out of habitual patterns and into a reflective, spacious environment that supports clarity and renewal
• Engage with the natural world as an active partner in learning, using it to illuminate leadership challenges and possibilities
• Explore systemic perspectives that reveal new ways of understanding teams, culture and organisational dynamics
• Develop inner capacities such as presence, equanimity, discernment and relational awareness
• Connect with peers in a supportive, inquiry-based learning community
• Leave with practical insights and renewed energy for leading in complex, fast-moving environments

Special Reduced Fee

As this leadership encounter is being offered alongside an optional research study, conducted in collaboration with the University of Chichester (Ethics Approval No. 2526_39), we are able to offer places at a significantly reduced fee of £250. This fee covers the costs, with no facilitation fees being charged. You are invited to take part in the research component if you so wish. However, participation is entirely voluntary and the fee remains the same whether or not individuals choose to be involved in the research.

Facilitators

Dr. Valentina Canessa-Pollard

Valentina is a coaching psychologist, educator and eco-therapy practitioner who helps people navigate professional transitions and life changes with clarity, purpose, and psychological insight. In addition to her coaching and leadership development work, she serves as a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Chichester. In this role, she is the curator of the Human Factor Professional Learning Programme, Academic Area Lead for Psychology and Criminology, and Programme Lead for MSc Coaching Psychology and BSc Psychology Programmes, as well as Sustainability Lead for the Academic Area.

Terence Sexton

Terence works as a Leadership Psychologist and is currently studying for a PhD in Applied Transpersonal Psychology with the Alef Trust and Liverpool John Moores University. His research focuses on how changemakers can develop their consciousness, so they gain the leadership capability needed to address the challenges society is currently facing. He has gained over 25 years of experience working as a Leadership Psychologist in a wide range of industries and now mainly works with leaders, engaging them in Executive Profiling, Executive Coaching and Leadership Development. In recent years, his focus has been on regenerative leadership.

What will you be doing?
You'll experience a blend of:

• Gentle, guided practices
• Short, psychologically grounded inputs on integrated systems methodology and living systems organisations
• Paired and small- group reflection
• Outdoor sensing and noticing exercises
• Everything is invitational - you choose your own level of participation

Do I need to be physically fit?
No special level of fitness is required. Any outdoor elements are gentle and can be adapted.

What should I wear and bring?
Please bring:

• Comfortable, layered clothing you can move in
• Waterproof or warm outerwear and footwear, depending on the weather
• A notebook and pen if you like to capture insights
• Water/tea/coffee will be available; you may also want to bring a reusable water bottle.
