Dr Keith Griffiths

Trustee

Dr Keith Griffiths PhD, PgCert IM, Ergänzungsdiplom, GMus, FRSA, FASC (Academic Director of Ruskin Mill Centre for Practice)  has had a portfolio career having worked simultaneously in both the special education and inclusion arena and (for some time) as a professional conductor and academic. Keith has had the privilege of conducting in many countries – the USA, Australia, China, Germany, France, Italy and the UK.

Alongside his conducting commitments, Keith started his work in education and became the music tutor for Bristol University working at Cardiff Prison, where he taught for two years. Following this, he worked for a series of charities managing independent alternative education schools and provisions. Keith achieved a senior leader post which focused on several key leadership themes, such as operational leadership, staff training, business development, data and evaluations. Additionally, Keith has advised external stakeholders in the development and implementation of national and international programmes.

In 2009, alongside both professional spheres, Keith completed his PhD in Musicology at Cardiff University.

Keith is the Academic Director for the Ruskin Mill Centre for Practice. This work centres on Ruskin Mill Trust’s method and the Seven Fields of Practice as a therapeutic vehicle for working with children and young adults with special educational needs and other barriers to learning.

Keith has completed the Foundation Course in Goethean Science through the Nature Institute in New York. He also helps to deliver on many of the Ruskin Mill trainings and the Master’s degree programme.
