Dr Fiona Sharpe (course director)

Waldorf Diploma / PGCE Course Director

Fiona completed a BSc. in Computing Science at Imperial College and initially worked in the computing industry, before later training as a Steiner teacher and Bothmer/games movement teacher.

Subsequently she completed a PGCE in secondary mathematics through the Open University, and more recently has been involved in master’s and doctoral research into mathematics education at Bristol University.

Fiona taught Pilates for several years before joining the Hereford Waldorf School (and then Steiner Academy Hereford) as movement teacher, class teacher in 7/8, and US mathematics teacher. She also taught mathematics in mainstream secondary schools, and more recently has done some assistant teaching work at Bristol University.

Post Fiona’s PhD research on emerging mathematics she is continuing to look at mathematics education. She is also part of a small on-going research project at Bristol University involving the design and facilitation of workshops for transformational leadership.

Fiona has four children who all went to the Hereford Waldorf school.
