Ian Clements (RMT Company Secretary)

After leaving school, Ian completed a five-year undergraduate apprenticeship with Rolls Royce Aero Engines Ltd, which included a degree in mechanical engineering from Southampton University and a diploma in management studies. Three years followed at Rolls Royce’s industrial and marine division in Coventry where Ian was the division’s liaison engineer with the Royal Navy at the National Gas Turbine Establishment, working on warship propulsion systems.

In 1975, Ian embarked on a career change, joining a spiritual community in the Scottish Borders. Since then, he has spent almost 50 years working for a variety of organisations in the charity sector. These have included the Council for the Preservation of Rural England, Community First, the British Red Cross, MIND and the British Society of Dowsers.

Ian was one of the early parents involved in the Hereford Waldorf School (now the Hereford Steiner Academy) and was also the clinic manager at Park Attwood for three years until he joined Ruskin Mill Trust in 2008. At RMT he has held several posts and is currently company secretary.
