Tara Gratton (Co-CEO Ruskin Mill Trust and Director of Schools and Rise, Ruskin Mill Trust)
has been working as Director of Schools for the Trust for over four years. During this time, she has been involved in establishing new schools, improving quality and compliance and developing the school curriculum.
Tara started her career in education in 1992 as a teacher in a primary school, and in 2004 she took up her first head teacher role. Over the following years she has worked with a range of schools and education federations, as both head and executive head, to improve their outcomes and quality. Tara has a proven track record in leading outstanding schools, and for supporting and transforming schools that are struggling.
Tara has been a safeguarding lead, member of a local safeguarding board, governor and board member for several other educational establishments and has a strong understanding of governance and compliance.
Tara is currently undertaking the MEd in PSTE, delivered at Ruskin Mill in collaboration with Huddersfield University. Her research work is focused on curricula for schools, and she has already been involved in designing curricula for the Trust schools, as well as the Teaching in Specialist Steiner Garden Schools course.
Tara will continue as the Trust Director of Schools and Rise, as well as Co-CEO with Aonghus whilst the Trust recruits and inducts a new Director of Schools Improvement.
