This summer, to refresh and inspire, why not treat yourself to a weekend in the world of storytelling?

Storytelling is first and foremost entertainment but it is also an avenue to educate, and heal. Deepest of all, it is a path of inner awakening. All these levels will be explored and experienced in this week of wonders, which will feature some of the stories that have sustained and inspired me for nearly 40 years. The workshop will include a performance of Tistou – a story for our time, new exercises and old will be threaded throughout the sessions, the beautiful surroundings of Emerson College holding and supporting us throughout..

If you’ve never told a story before, here’s your chance to learn a few skills, if your story tanks are low, here’s the space to fill them with some story wisdom, if you’re in need of some relief from a world gone mad, here will be laughter, safe contact and some story medicine to see you though the months ahead.

Ashley Ramsden is the founding director of the School of Storytelling the longest centre of its kind in the UK. For nearly four decades he has toured the world with his performances and workshops. In this week he would like to pass on some of the storyteller’s gold he has gleaned over the years. His hope to “Leave something of sweetness and substance in the mouth of the world.”
